Virtically mobile

I don't think we can call this "walking" yet. Her record is 14 consecutive solo steps. Some may call that walking - I consider it stepping. Though I'm proud of her accomplishment, I do bemoan the fact that all this stepping-practice leads to increased bumps and bruises.
I've been wondering lately what drives a child to start walking. We, her parents, don't spend much time encouraging it - it's all her own ambition. But why? She must know she can get wherever she wants much more quickly by crawling. I wonder if it's an intrinsic/instinctive drive to attempt walking, or if it's simply environmental (ie, mimicking other vertically mobile people). Who knows. Anyways - life is fun. She gets more entertaining day by day.

You tube is so cool. How do you do that? Can we talk about the pink jammie?

She totally cheated at the end.

Wow - i'm impressed. That's walking! Can you believe you have a little girl that walks?! Brianna has always been early on her little milestones. What a smarty pants. Madeline is the opposite - she just drops down and crawls because it is faster. We need to get these girls together. I think it would be funny to watch them. Good luck with the "stepper" :)

Oh..and I love the "go Jazz" plug at the end!

You ask a really interesting question. I have never thought about it. If we learned as much each year as a baby does in the first year of life, think about what we would have accomplished. Brianna has beautiful hair. She is lucky to have some curl in her hair.

Good steps Brianna. Emma is officially walking now, but not fast yet (so I'm still enjoying it). I think beebees just want to be like us big people, so they copy everything they can. Plus, when you're standing up you can reach more things that you're not supposed too, and that's fun.

And for the bows - you can never have too much fun with bows. I LOVE them. Emma isn't too much of a fan, but she humors me.

mom - actually, this isn't a youtube video. I tried to upload this to youtube but it wasn't working. So this is just a blogger video. I prefer youtube so I can add the bubble-talks.

C - she's 11 months old. Birthday in 3 weeks.... (wow, very surreal to be saying that. time flies!)

Chels - yes, she did cheat at the end. And you can hear me in the video saying "stop that, you're cheating."

Marilyn - do you remember seeing Brian as a baby? He had bleach-blond super curly hair. I'm just crossing my fingers that those genetics will kick in!

Keish - I say "beebees" too! All the time! I think we have a lot in common. Someday when we're back in Provo we need to have playdates.

So adorable! She is seriously a great walker! Time to baby proof even more, oi. It gets interesting seeing all the things they can manage to get into :) I love that she is wearing two different socks.

I LOVE how you used that table as bait!! :) We have that table, my girls still play with it once in a while, and they love to fill the bowl with water . . . fun!!

I remember the increase of bumps and bruises when my girls started walking, I even have a video of Eden walking and right as I was fading it out, she fell and hit her head on the corner of a wood toy box . . . ouch!! Hopefully, Brianna won't get hurt as much as my 2 did!! :)

(Oh and yes, I would also consider that walking!!)

That is awesome! I think it is just fine to discourage your child from walking... that's what we do too! How are we supposed to get together when you live in VERNAL?! (by the way... I found out that I don't even know where that is! I used to think it was by St. George but someone told me I was wrong) We will be in Utah for T - 3 months so get your fix in while you can!

That is such a cute video, she is doing awesome with the walking and stepping. I couldn't tell what she was going for, I thought it was a M and M chocolate chip cookie for a minute, then I saw her little play table. Alli has that same one and really loved it around Brianna's age.
