This is what Home Teachers are for...

Our Provo Home Teachers came over Sunday for their last visit. When they posed the obligatory (awkward) question, "is there anything we can do for you or help you with?" instead of answering the typical, "no, we're ok, thanks." I said, "YES!" and pointed at the treadmill. I knew Brian and I wouldn't be able to load it in the truck ourselves. It's freakishly and annoyingly heavy. When it was first delivered to my house (I won it in 2006!), the moving guys told me they weren't allowed to come in the house, so they would be leaving the 5 billion pound NordicTrack box on my front porch. I just looked at them like "are you kidding me?!" so they grumbled and said something about just doing it really quick, and no stairs.
Anyways, so our three home teachers (apparently our ward is so nervous about us, they think we need three instead of just two) loaded it into Brian's ERAC truck (yay for work perks! Free moving trucks!) Thank you Tom, Takeshi, and JJ!
I was so flippin excited to run on it Monday morning (versus having to bundle up and brave the single digit temps and icey roads). So Brian had one of his TSA buddies come over and get it in the house for us. I scooted it in front of the TV so I could watch the morning news while running. But my world came crashing down when I attempted to stick the 3-pronged power cord into the 2-hole outlet. NOOOOOOOOOO!

Hey Chelsea! Your stories always make me laugh:) I really will keep trying to call, I lost my voice Saturday and I can still barely talk so it will be a couple days but I'm not giving up! I know what you mean about getting excited to run inside, I never thought I would say that but these winters are harsh. We didn't know how good we had it running in 70 degree weather every day! When Spring comes we will have to meet in Provo to do a 5k. Talk to you soon, Melissa

Moving is very frustrating, isn't it. When I was married to my first husband, we moved 16 times in 10 years (school, Air Force, etc.) After Paul and I built this house, we said, "Never, ever, ever, ever will we move again!!) I hope that you can solve the treadmill problem soon.

Sorry about the punctuation mistakes!

Provo home teachers are better. So, I guess you'd better come back, eh?

I think there are converters out there for those 3 pronged problems. But, you probably already knew that.

How did you win a nice treadmill like that?!?!

I was just going to add what Amy said, there ARE 3 pronged converters, but sometimes hard to find. We used them in the Salem house just about everywhere.

Good luck with that!

Melissa - yeah, 5K definitely, or... let's do a half marathon this spring!

Marilyn - trust me, punctuation is the last thing I worry about on blogs (obviously). Though I do value correct spelling. =)

Amy - I won it at a casino in Wendover.
Kidding.
It was the Salt Lake 5K. I wasn't supposed to go - my coach at BYU told me not to. I did it anyway and he saw my name in the paper and was so mad he didn't let me go to Nationals, though I had qualified in the 10K. He was really ticked off. So was my dad. I was disappointed... but now, years later, I have my treadmill and I'm quite happy about my choice to be blatantly disobedient.

Jami - Brian found a converter at ACE here in Vernal for $6. Happiness! Yeah, these old homes are all 2-prong outlets. Ridiculous.
