Bowling ball for sale

Shhh.... don't tell Brian (he never looks at this blog)
I'm selling his bowling ball on Craigslist. I think I'll ask $10. I'll be happy if I get $2. Heck, I'll be happy if someone is willing to drive over and just take it!
He shot down my intial request to sell it, since it was a gift from his Grandpa. Now before you go thinking I am a horrible person for trying to pawn off his sentimentality.... you need to realize a few things:
  • he hasn't ever actually used it. Ever.
  • it's heavy. heavy things are annoying.
  • we are MOVING - meaning time for serious de-cluttering.
  • i guarantee he will neverever notice it's missing.
  • his Grandpa gives him lots of stuff. Like the eagle statue in our room. I might sell that too though.

DO NOT sell your husband's bowling bowl - it is not yours! My Grandmother sold my wedding dress - after all I was not going to "ever" wear it again. I wish I had my wedding dress!

Ya, I agree . . . you probably shouldn't sell your husband's property! We have a lot of wierd things around our house that Andy got on his mission . . . but I fear they will be here until we are old and grey! :)

(Although, you make a good point, Andy never looks at this blog . . . I could sell all of his stuff on this blog and he would never miss it or know I did it! :) I still probably would never do it though!! :)

I disagree! Sell the thing! I think moving back and forth from Hawaii and only being able to have 2 duffel bags worth of stuff makes me agree with you! I toss Sam's stuff all the time and not one thing has ever been missed :)

Okay, let's talk about annoying things that the husbands bring home. Steve once had a singing Christmas tree with scary big eyes on it that popped open as it blasted "Jingle Bells". That one got lost somehow (probably in a move) and honestly I didn't do anything to help it go away.

Maybe sometimes the things that we most loathe will feel our unlove and find new homes all on their own!

I would not sell the bowling ball especially since you already asked him and he said no. I don't think an extra 12lbs is going to really matter in the move. I have things that mean something to me that others might think are silly was of space. Let him decide when he is ready to get rid of it.

I didn't even read what you wrote, but I wouldn't sell that bowling ball. He loves that bowling ball and we had a lot of memories attached to it. I can remember going to bowling allies to bowl and he would bring his own bowling ball. I also remember one time when the bowling alley was closing and he brought out that specific bowling ball and said, "Look, I even brought my own ball." I think someday he will have fun bowling with it when he is not so busy with work and life slows down a little bit. You could always leave it at the condo, I know that my dad would like to take it when they bowl with Mikes family in Spanish Fork.

apparently no one has a sense of humor here...
i was just kidding. He's fine with selling it.
Brian even had people calling to "inform" him his bowling ball was being auctioned. He pretended to be VERY concerned...

anyone wanna buy the big eagle statue his grandpa gave him when he got his Eagle in Scouts?
Bidding starts at $1, Rhett!

I think we should start our own bowling league....some of us need a team for those who score significantly less than the rest of the world. Although, I think I actually made 138 on our last trip...Is that even good? I know this is an older post but I must have missed it! Did you ever sell it?
