1/2

I did the full one a few years ago... now I'm a little more sane and will be doing the HALF on May 16th with my good friend Melissa(Flake)Bates.
It's a gorgeousgorgeous course and thankfully I have plenty of time to build up my long run (I'm only at 7 right now).
Anybody else wanna join us??

Yeah, I think 1/2 marathons are definitely the way to go. Humans aren't supposed to run marathons I don't think.

Wow, good for you!! I have always wanted to run a marathon . . . but I can't seem to run for more than a week or two! Some day it will happen!! :) Have fun!!

You are awesome, Chelsea! Brianna is so lucky to have a mom who will teach her to be active and healthy. Good luck with the training!

Jen - YAY! I'm so glad you'll be there! Small world. I thought you were training for a full one??

Kara - I totally agree. Totally.

Mandy - come do it with us!! You have plenty of time to get ready!

Mal - I don't know about that. I don't think Brianna appreciates me being gone for a long time then coming back all sweaty. And she gets a little freaked out at the treadmill noise. But I can't wait til she's old enough to do the little kid's 100 meter dashes that they often have at local races!

I am but going to do a full, in September my plans changed a little, I am scared about the full and am not completely mentally commited but..... I will give it a good try. I am pumped about the 1/2 though. Full marathons are for machines, I am not a machine.

I am so excited! Should we see if Coach K could mail us a few BYUH uniforms to wear just for old times sakes? Ha ha. Are you going to be treadmill training or braving the cold?

Melissa - yes - definitely need to wear the old uniforms. Although I think we'd freeze! I still have the red longsleeve seasiders xc shirt though - I'll wear that if you do. I might have two, actually...
Treadmill vs/ outside... lately I've only been running outside on saturdays when I can go later in the day. Mornings here are still in the single digits, and that's just too nasty to run in. My nose gets really runny. And it takes forever to get all dressed and undressed... I love just hoping on the treadmill in shorts and a sports bra and turning on a movie. It makes the time fly by. I watched "Glory Road" this morning (so awesome). But downside of treadmills: it makes running easier. I can go at a 7 min pace and it's not that hard. But outside, I know I can't do that. Oh well. What about you?
