26.2

No, I'm not doing a marathon. 26.2 is just the name of the place we went to last Saturday. It's a specialty running store in American Fork. I had a gift certificate I needed to use so I got these shoes:

They're Mizunos. I've tried this brand before and they're... fine. But that's what I say about every brand of running shoes I've tried. They're all just ok. Haven't found any that I'm in love with. They're all supposed to last 500 miles, but I find that if I let myself go that long wearing the same shoes, my left foot's plantar fasciitis comes back. It's evil.
Note on shoe size: I'd like to bear my testimony that running shoes should be purchased in a full size larger than one normally wears. These are 8.5, and I used to wear 7.5 til I discovered the joy that comes from giving my toes extra breathing room.
While we were there, Brian got a free "gait analysis." I think he enjoyed watching the video of himself running in slow motion. Then he chatted with the guys in "sports talk" position (arms folded, legs apart - anybody know the stance I'm talking about?)

Brianna kept herself entertained in the energy bars, and doing her own gait analysis (they diagnosed her as flat-footed and bow-legged. Hmphf.)

stores always put snacks at baby level. My kids loved to empty these cases. I'm always ok with it and people like to give me the look of "aren't you going to do something about your child"

you are soo funny! I tried Mizunos before and absolutely LOVED them, until my foot was in screaming pain...I finally took a trip to the podiatrist and found out my old shoes were "motion control" and the mizunos i loved were not. (sigh) so it was back to the old brand. fixed the problem though...I won't mention the new one i got that put me into orthotics...but now that I'm about 3 months from having this baby...it'll be a little while before i can prove the orthotics or not! ;)

I agree. You say it much better though.

i agree. i don't really love any of the running shoes i buy, except for my first pair of reall running shoes in 7th grade that they have discontinued. but i think i may have just loved them so much because i was able to run in actual running shoes instead of jellies.
