She is so dang cute! Brody totally fell out of the cart a couple weeks ago when he was at the store with John. He won't sit in the seat anymore, so he was in the basket and was reaching for something in the checkout line...and of course, landed on his head. The poor kiddo is always konking his head. Although, John said the bag carousel thing kinda broke his fall a bit...but still!
I love this picture. She is a doll and a lot like my girls, who never want to be buckled. I've even had the occasional shopper tell me that they are standing...like I don't know.
We had that same thing happen today, I was in the dressing room at Target and looked and guess who was standing up in the cart!!! Yikes. I finally put her in the part with the groceries and she enjoyed that, she only fell a few times. Brianna is really growing up quick. I can also relate on the dishwasher, Alli is obsessed with our dishwasher. This is something I have learned to do while she naps now.
Ahh...Target! Brianna looks like she's in control here. She looks so darn cute standing up in that cart. Madeline must be lazy because her favorite position is with her feet up on the handle. Funny girls...
Amanda - you're right - Brian's expression really says "I don't know what to think about this." It was the first time she had stood up in the cart, and he called me over to see her. At first I was like, "Ahhh! Brian, get her down, she could fall!" (remembering what AMY had told me about her son!). But then I told Brian to wait a sec so I could take a picture of it first. That's why I used the sarcastic title, "safety first."
Rachel - people have really stopped to inform you that your daughter is standing up in the cart?! That's hilarious. You should play it up, like "ohmy - are you SERIOUS?! I thought she was just taking a nap in a vertical position!" Gotta love nosy strangers.
My first thought was - "oh, they must of staged this." Then, "oh my word, they are totally obilvious to the fact that my granddaughter is going to fall any second and they are actually postponing her rescue until they have their photo opp!" Either thought is a little unsettling!

Been there. Done that. Kids fallen on heads. Oh yeah. The only answer for shopping? Sedation. For them...and for us.

I like the expression on Brian's face! I can't quite figure out what he thinks about Brianna being so independent! That little girl is such a cutie!
it looks like she is having fun!

This looks like a classic Tanner pose! He hates being strapped into those things.

Wait until she starts crawling into the cart from the seat, then crawling back!
