Feasting on The Word

I have always hoped that my daughter would develop a love for the scriptures and learn to enjoy them....
Rule #1: never leave even a semi-mobile baby alone with anything important. But if you do... you can either get upset, or go grab your camera.
Fortunately she only destroyed a title page.

On a serious note - I don't believe you can start to early to read scriptures with your little people. I taught seminary for 3 years and the language of the scriptures was so much more understandable to those who were used to reading with their families. The difficulties certainly explain the ongoing translations that the Bible continues to go through. Starting Brianna with the title page is probably a great beginning. MOM

mom - weve already talked about this... Brianna has been at a 4th grade reading level since she was 6 weeks old. Along with her excelling at physics, egyptian hieroglyphics, and ice hockey... no worrying about development. Amen.

Chelsea, you are hilarious! I love the title "feasting on the word."

Thanks for making me laugh on a regular basis. I love your blog!

What a super cute new background! Thanks so much for the very nice comment on my blog. I will have to try the Terriyaki Chicken next time. The Cheesecake Factory is absolutely my new favorite restaraunt! I would have to agree with your friend Amy, your blog posts are ALWAYS so hillariously whitty. I am very entertained every time I read up on The McKell Family. :) And as usual, these pics of Brianna are darling.

Yep, I have a page in Mosiah that's there to remind me of the time when Devin decided to start marking the scriptures at around 2.

Oh, we've been there. However, my girls were older and should have known better at the time!! It's a good thing she's cute . . . harder to get mad at! You are hilarious, by the way. I am very impressed at Brianna's reading level. (4th grade, that's great) Does she have time to tutor my girls? :-)

I just had a big catch up session on your life. Looks like you are finding out that there are great perks to every town....and it's true it can be a lot more fun when you have some friends to share it with! However, never stop doing things even if it's just you and Briann (and future kids) - I've been on more outings alone with my kiddos and find that we have bonded in ways that are really wonderful, although I still might crave a little adult conversation by the end! When you do come back this way let me know...we need to plan something so that I do something with you on this end! :)
