9 months!

Brianna hit 9 months last Friday. Current stats as of the November 6th doc appt:

Weight = 19 lb 14 oz
Height = 28 inches

We went to a new Pediatrician - Dr. Gouche. Interesting guy, to say the least. He came into the office wearing a suit and cowboy boots. He told me several horror stories of household injuries incurred by his patients resulting in brain function loss, disability, and death. He gave me a short bio: he grew up performing on stages in various musical and comedy ensembles, traveling the world from age 6 to 26. Then he decided to become a pediatrician. He married a Mormon in Kentucky, moved to Salt Lake because he fell in love with the mountains ("and I thought the Ozarks were mountains!"), and somehow ended up teaching Old Testament classes at the University of Utah. Then they needed a D&C teacher and asked him. He taught for 5 years, never telling his students he wasn't a member - he w
as actually a stauch evangelical. The CES bigmen finally called him out; told him it was time to figure out if he would get baptized. He said he wanted to choose his missionaries - those silly 19 yr old boys would be useless to him. So he had some meetings with an LDS Ancient Hebrew Studies professor and a General Authority before he finally took the plunge. Then he moved to Singapore, had 7 kids, got sick of the urban life there, then moved to Vernal just 6 weeks ago.
Anyways, so that's Brianna's new doctor. Maybe we'll keep him, maybe try a new one next checkup. She's had a new one almost every time - why stop now?!

PS - do you like her dress? It is courtesy of her Aunt Jocelyn, a Gymboree Exec! (sweet hookup, huh!)

Well! Nice to get to know your dr.! Boy, interesting, to say the least.
I was thinking Brianna's little outfit looked cute. But, where is her giant yellow flower? That made such a statement!

The mountains in the eastern US are what people out here would refer to as large fuzzy green hills. They're pretty, but not nearly as commanding as the Rocky Mountains! -VAL

Wow. What a story! That sounds like it would make a fascinating novel! Meanwhile, I hope he's a good pediatrician?!?!? I can't believe she's nine months already. That is terrible!! TOOO FAST!! Its nice, though, that you won't have to worry about the 20 lb carseat rule when she is 1! She'll for sure be able to turn around and discover a whole new world. That's always a fun milestone!

That is a crazy story! She is so dang cute! Oh, and I am WAY jealous of the Gymboree hook-up! I love their clothes but can never justify spending that kind of money on an outfit they would outgrow so quickly!! :-)Sounds like she is doing great!

chelsea,
about netzero. it is slow, that's all. but it totally will suffice for now, until we sell the house. i just can't blog hop like i used to and it really does keep me off the internet more, which is probably a good thing so, there ya have it. they also have a more expensive option-10 bucks or so. you can check out their website though. good luck.

p.s. i LOVE your family pictures. they turned out great! brianna is beautiful-just like mommy :)

not quite an exec, but thanks for the shout out! it looks very cute and it appears to fit her perfectly. i hate when people talk to me in situations like yours at the doctor's office. the worst to me is when the check-out person at the grocery store feels the need to comment on items i'm buying.

Love the family pics! And Sheesh...Brody didn't reach 19+ pounds until he was a year old...he's still a small fry...only 22 pounds and he's 22+ months old now! Kamryn is on her way up though...at least 10 lbs.
