Curse you Rapunzel

It seems like almost every kid has a sad episode with scissors and self-hair styling efforts. Until now, I thought we had been spared from a child with that fetish.
Brianna finally got to watch that Tangled movie. Cute, funny, sassy... We both liked it. Unfortunately Brianna liked it too much and thought it would be a good idea to CUT her OWN hair.
I caught her before she did too much damage, thank goodness. She has now lost her scissor privileges until she's 18.

Emma did the same thing. She has since learned that only Valerie at the "cut place" can cut her hair. She even gets mad at me if I try to trim my bangs on my own and tells me it's time to go see Valerie.

The other thing she learned from Tangled is "I will never let you use my *hair* again!" (*insert whatever she doesn't want to share at that moment*).

And it took much reassuring from her that I am her real mother (like the queen, not like mother goethl) and not an evil witch.

We don't watch tangled much anymore!

Oh no! You're making me think I should monitor those scissors a little more. I thought we'd be through that, too. I love her expression here. IT looks very teenagerish. We love Tangled! such a cute movie.

Eryn has a "if you cut my hair it will never grow back" fear. Yes, I'm NOT doing anything to teach her otherwise. Naughty parent that I am, but I just am so terrified for when that dreaded chop happens!

I didn't do one of those until I was in 7th grade. Guess I was a late bloomer. I hacked out a stick of gum and about 10 inches in one foul swoop.

I am sure you understand when I say I feel your pain.
