In the Mead HS "Pit"
I took my kids to see one of my YW's drama performances at Mead High School last night. By some miracle, they all behaved pretty great! And I think Lynnzee and her mom were very touched that we made the effort to come. It was good for my kids too, to see what high school theater is all about! Hopefully the adult themes went over their heads... :/
After the show they ran around in "The Pit", basically a historical landmark here. I'm glad they've kept it, despite all the major renovations this school has had.
It was a definite trip down memory lane for me to be here!

Look what I found!
While going through my box of old stuff, looking for some YW items, I came across this lovely form :-) It's a good thing they specified that no one is allowed to get serious because obviously with a personality like this I would have been irresistible to whomever my assigned date was. It's a good thing I specified I disliked Swahilians, so I wouldn't get one of the many of them around as my date.
I'm glad I'm not a throw-away-er
Found this from 1999! "Missionary Month" coming again to the Greenbluff ward in 2017 with cool nametags :)

This is how we VT!
"Dads and donuts day" at school
Still not a fan, and never will be, of celebrating with nothing but junk food. But I do love seeing them spend QT together and making memories. Plus, Brian couldn't dare be the lame-o dad who didn't show up to Dads&Donuts. Our kids would feel basically like orphans, since I didn't go to Moms&Donuts a few months ago (honestly forgot!)

Reality check?
"Mommy, I wanna eat what Mermaids eat!"
"Oh really? What do you think they eat?"
"Umm, probably fish and seaweed. Do we have any?"
"Actually, yes Mermaid Courtney, I have seaweed right here!"
[shock and amazement]
Cozy
When the furnace goes out in the middle of the night, it's really nice to have an electric fireplace! And a space heater. And an electric blanket.
Our house is 52 degrees right now. Got as low as 47 last night. Super awesome.
[sarcasm]
But what I'm not being sarcastic about is how grateful I am for my Ward family! The Mormon Network is awesome. I have a testimony of that :-) We couldn't find any heating companies available to come work on our furnace today....But a guy at church works for one, and he was able to squeeze us in. Hallelujah
Can't wait to be warm!

Snokane
So grateful for my neighbor with a serious plow, taking care of the mess on our roads! Now I won't have to gun it and hope momentum gets me in and out of here.

2017 BriannaGoals
I gave her the idea to write something positive everyday and put it in a jar. I told her I'd give her 10 bucks at the end of the year if her jar was totally full and she did at least one paper a week. So far, she's done one paper every day! This girl is motivated, and easily sees the positive things that happen everyday ❤
PS - does she not look more grown up here?! And ridiculously gorgeous. Oh my heart.
Family Unbirthday Party
I accidentally made a cake... Not trying to be cute here, it really was an accident. It started off as an idea to bake pancakes, and things just snowballed from there.
So why not make a memory out of it! They loved busting out the candles, party hats, and singing! Here's the video: https://youtu.be/ZMD-zA276YI

Because I'm a little loco...
We hosted a kindergarten playdate and invited everyone in the class! Fortunately for my sanity, only 8 came. Brianna helped organize and orchestrate our games and activities. Turned out to be a lot of fun!
Bye freaky dude
After too many years of listening to this elf's crazy jingle bell tune he sings when you press his belly, we are finally getting rid of it. I've been thinking I'll just get rid of it when the batteries die out, but unfortunately these batteries are possessed by the devil and never die. It's probably healthy for me to practice getting rid of things anyway, since I'm not very good at that. As evidenced by the fact that I do an entire blog post justifying my decision to get rid of something.

My parents are amazing
Sent from my mobile.
_____________________________________________________________
It's challenging enough to raise normal children. I'm just in awe of how my parents have raised their special needs daughter. Plus seven other children, a few of which have special needs as well;) Seriously though. The love , dedication , and tireless sacrifice they offer for our Sammy is so beautiful and inspiring.
