3rd of July

It's interesting to live in a state where federal holidays can be changed by popular vote when they happen to fall on a Sunday. On the actual fourth of July, we didn't do any sort of celebration or traditional activity, other than dress up our kid all patriotic:
(this is at nursery at church. Not sure if it's ok to take pictures, but I believe that "it's better to ask forgiveness than permission").
On Saturday the 3rd we went to the city parade:
Not too exciting, in my opinion. I'm not much of a parade person. Sitting around watching people walk/drive slow in costumes is just a little pointless.
But what's NOT pointless is Great Harvest. Love that placed. Totally overpriced, but we had coupons, and Brian needed lunch before heading back to work. Also, our GH has this amazing treat called a Trek Bar. Brianna was most interested in playing with her cup of ice water.

After work, Brian joined us at Canyon Park:

In the evening we had some neighbor-friends over for a little firework action. "Fireworks" meaning just pop-its:
 And sparklers:

And some other weird ones Brian bought that smelled bad and looked like poo. But he and David were like 14 yr old pyro boyscouts having fun with them. *sigh* silly boys....
