There is a huge difference between testimonies and thank-a-monies. Just sayin.

The brethren have previously sent out an official letter to discourage that. HOWEVER, today Bro. Assmus was conducting and so started off the mtg. with his testimony. I was inspired that someone who had just endured such loss would express some of the deepest comments of gratitude I have ever heard.

Funny, I just happened to be out in the foyer yesterday with my unhappy baby and I listened to the singles ward's testimonies. HILARIOUS! I was embarrassed for those silly silly girls and diarrhea of the mouth. Not very attractive.

Mom - Bro Assmus is one of the few people on this earth that gets a free pass.

Amy - Oh how I wish I could've been there with you to laugh at them. Then again, maybe I wouldn't wanna. I get pretty frustrated with this gross misuse of testimony meeting. And I gotta remember that phrase - diarrhea of the mouth. Good one.

I AGREE!! The worst though, is when someone gets up and starts telling RANDOM stories that have NO point!! I think it's o.k. to throw in a little gratitude, but ya, the basis of a testimony is about what you believe!
