Just went to animal shelter in cedar. Thinking about adopting dog. Brianna needs a playmate and i need a running partner. Brian needs something to shovel in backyard. This will be his fathers day present :)

You are so awesome! May I suggest you find a dog like our Ruby, with golden retriever in her (Ruby is a pureblood, but I doubt you'll find one at the shelter. Who knows, though?). Extremely patient with kids, LOVES to run, but also very good about sitting still and chilling when necessary. They are the 4th smartest dog, can recognize over 200 voice commands...can't say enough good about retrievers! I think Brian would be thrilled. I remember him with Ruby when you guys came to pick up Brianna. How fun!

sounds fun, I am not a pet person, but just finished Marley and me and I am more open to the idea.

Whoa, Whoa, whoa! I can't believe you are thinking about getting a dog! Is this post for real?

I just have to warn you that I think it's a terrible idea....Yes, I bought Mitch the dog he wanted 11 years ago...and yes...she is, like the best dog ever...BUT..

The first night we got her I thought I had made a huge mistake. She pooped across the whole front room floor (as I was taking her to the back yard), ate a bunch of expensive dog food, whined all night and was totally cute!

Okay, so we have never taken a vacation that we didn't have to find a dogsitter. It's harder than yu think, I mean, who doesn't want to watch a 60 lb hunk for the weekend?! I can't even stay out too late because Brooklyn might get cold outside or eat whatever is in the garbage can!

And she farts! I am sure you've had the pleasure! She doesn't hold anything back! We just happened to pick the only dog in the litter that has a period 2ce per year that lasts a WHOLE MONTH each time! YUK! I didn't even know that happened!! Then, there's the whole sensitive stomache thing. She eats too much or gets too hungry or eats people food and throws up...but only on the new carpet or your favorite sweater!

She was so great with other dogs until she got fixed. I don't dare take her anywhere by myself anymore. She just wants to sniff and fight.

Now, you can do whatever you want. I just think you should think it over....No, I think you should get a fish or hamster or something that isn't a 20 year committment!!!

This comment got a little long so I think I will turn it into a post on my own blog to warn the other potential dog getters.
