attempts at a family photo...

All I wanted was one. decent. picture.

Just a quick snapshot to use for a father's day present for my dad (a photo tie from Snapfish).
Obviously, my expectations were too high. We all couldn't possibly be looking at the camera at the same time...and not have our neighbor's finger over the lens...and not be in some awkward position...

I gave up.

I need photoshop I guess.

Just wait until you have multiple children to try to coordinate. It is a *rare* blessing from heaven to get just ONE picture that works. My goal is once every five years.

Good luck trying to get an 18 month old to do ANYTHING you want! I think the photos are great and imitate actual life!

Did you ever hear the story about Grandpa McKell bribing his grandkids (when they were little) to pose for a family picture. He told them that he had a money making machine in the basement and would give each child several brand new dollars to look at the camera and smile. He had previously gone to the bank and obtained new dollar bills. I think everyone smiled but Brian. The photo is on the wall in Dad's family room.
Money is always a possiblity to convince kids to smile. Of couse, Brianna is too young for that ploy.

I have to admit, I am usually the one not looking at the camera. I am always doing something like fixing someone's hair, telling someone else to lok at the camera, etc! I still think your pics are cute...even with the neighbors finger over the lens. It will be memorable!!

Cute pictures! So funny. Maybe I should try to bribe my father in law to look at the camera. It NEVER fails, he is ALWAYS looking somewhere else. It's odd and he's 74 years old.

p.s. I love how long Brianna's hair is growing. It's so pretty. Just like her mama's!

I like these pictures, especially the ones with the neighbor's finger. One more way to remember your wonderful life in the neighborhood, right?

Talk to Jenny - she gets the best photos! It was funny though - seeing your efforts - getting family photos was always such a trial for us. Then came photo shop and that chopping or cropping - whatever it is - is amazing. Off with one head and on with another! Careful though - did you every see what happened when they cropped out Sara's boyfriend from the reunion shot - they forgot his legs! Imagine.

Ya, we do the family pictures like that with a tri-pod and self timer. Try taking 20 pictures when you have to jump up and reset the timer for each picture!! :)

I think you guys got some cute ones . . . totally real life! :)
