Am I the only one who finds this ironic:

At the park we were sitting near another family on the grass having a picnic. I watched as the little toddler ignored his lunch and started chewing on the grass and dirt near him. His mother furiously tugged his arm away saying, "NO! Bad! That's ICKY" and handed him a Hostess-wrapped item.

Hilarious!!! I've always said, "a little dirt never hurt." and maybe I should add, "it's better than a twinkie!"

I think the grass and dirt would be better for him although I do like hostess items - oh wait... I don't really know cuz my mom would never buy them for us - haha!!!

Are you sure it wasn't me and Addi at the park? Sounds like something I'd do (because I'm such a great Mom)!

so funny.....and here is another. I've found myself and other moms saying to kids when we are at McD's playarea (a rare treat, but we do go about every other millenia!) - "Sit down and eat something before you go play" -WHAT? As if the healthy chicken nuggets and fries are going to be giving our kids such great nutrients and energy. I find many things we say as parents ironic...but the one you shared is one of the best!!

Ya, I let my girls eat the junk sometimes, but I would still rather them eat that than dirt that could have remnants of animal on it . . . you don't see the pee! But, my girls do know when something is good for you or not, I just tell them that as long as they don't eat things that are bad for you ALL the time, it is o.k. to have them once in a while. One day, Eden said she was hungry and I offered her some Cheetos and she started crying and yelled, "NO! That is NOT good for your body!" It made me laugh because usually she asks for them! It's great that you are so good with Brianna's nutrition, I could never be that strict! :) (but don't worry, my girls love all sorts of fruits and veggies and we eat whole grains, it's not total crap food in our house! :)

Well, that could be a clue as to why 70%plus of Americans are "a little" over their desirable weights! Hey, remind me to share - I have a new cinnamon roll recipe that use sweetened condensed milk :)
